    Permissions in the Announcements Forum

Well I decided to take away permissions to create new threads in the annoucements forums from regular members. If you are wearing a moderator tag you can still start threads there. It's not anything against those of you who started threads, but it occurred to me that someone could register an account and quickly deface my homepage. Was silly of me to not think of that before.

You've had them since we migrated to the vBulletin forums.

Hate to break it to you but this forum is rather unpopular so it won't attract the attention of many idiots/spammers/flamers/etc.

well except for the ones who keep trying to make these bogus accounts that never get verified. I delete new ones every day.

Simple answer, then. You don't have to delete 'em every day (and I think they've stopped for now). Just make a certain day where you start deleting bogus accounts.
