Except the Tempest is a 5 level PrC and the Samurai is a base class. A direct comparison doesn't mean a lot.

I can think of a half dozen easy that I'd rather see in before samurai. True necromancer > samurai.

Warlock is the only new base class in NWN2. Who knows, maybe they will add more in the expansions.

In that case, warlock sounds right up your alley.

Arcane Trickster sounds right up your alley, come NWN2.

I would say shifter, but it's not really an option. I'll go with ranged and rogueish instead.
